New Delhi, Aug 3 (UNI) An appeal was filed before the Supreme Court by Masjid committe of Gyanvapi challenging the Allahabad High Court's order directing ASI to conduct a survey.

The appeal was mentioned before the Chief Justice of India (CJI) led bench, which said it will look into the issue and assign a date of hearing as soon as possible.

Lawyer Nizammudin Pasha, for Masjid Committee mentioned the matter before the CJI bench that let them (ASI) not to carry the survey mylords. I have emailed the order copy also.

The SC assured that we will look at the email right away and will try to list it.

Today during the day, the Allahabad HC had directed the ASI to conduct the survey.

It is be noted that a suit is pending before the Supreme Court regarding the maintainability of it.
